Zoe Manta was born and raised in Athens, Greece. In 2005 she got a degree in Film Studies from New York College, Athens. After experimenting with the medium on different positions (including direction, script writing, animation), she specialised in Cinematography.
Since then, Zoe has worked as a Director of Photography in more than twenty short films ('What is that?', 'Small pleasures'), eight feature films ('The Guide', 'Across her Body', 'Defunct'), advertisements (Toyota, Vichy, Vodafone, Lacta), video clips and internet series.
Furthermore, her love for experimenting with visual language has led her to be part of several projects, working on video art, photography and art-academic research.
Her artwork have been presented in various and diverse places, from Romantso in Athens, to SumidaHokusai Museum in Tokio and from theaters in Istanbul to art galleries in Berlin.
She is a Berlinale talent Campus alumni. Films that she worked for, have been screened and awardedin numerous national and international festivals. Latest she got a Best Cinematography award forthe movie ‘Mykonian Pastoral’.
She is always interested in different perspectives, new challenges, fresh collaborations and all forms of beauty and poetry.
